MEDIA STATEMENT

SANTACO Denounces Actions of Mpumalanga Patroller.

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) strongly condemns
the unacceptable behaviour of a Mpumalanga patroller who was
captured on video mistreating a truck driver. We denounce any form of
violence, intimidation, or harassment towards any road user.

Such actions are in direct contrast to the principles of our Hlokomela
campaign, which promotes harmony, respect, and cooperation among
all road users. As an organization, we value the safety and dignity of every
individual on our roads. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that
our members uphold the highest standards of professionalism and
respect. We support law enforcement agencies in their efforts to
investigate this incident and bring the perpetrator to justice. We also
commit to supporting the truck driver in seeking support for damage
endured.

Our Hlokomela campaign remains a cornerstone of our efforts to
promote a culture of mutual respect and cooperation among all road
users. We will continue to educate and sensitize our members on the
importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism and
respect.

Wecall on all road users to report any incidents of violence, intimidation,
or harassment to the law enforcement authorities and to work together
to create a safer and more harmonious road environment.
